hiring procedures

  1. Applications, resumes and references will be accepted in-person, by mail, by email, or electronically via Google Form above
  2. After reviewing the applications, the director will request a background check on qualified candidates.
  3. The director and/or classroom teacher(s) will conduct interviews.
  4. The director will complete reference checks on the applicants.
  5. Once the background checks have cleared and references have been contacted, the leading applicants will be invited back for a second interview or offered a position.
  6. If individual accepts the position, a contract will be discussed and signed.

background check and fingerprinting

All staff will have a criminal background check completed prior to working at ACCC. All staff will be required to have digital fingerprinting completed.

orientation

Upon hire, all staff will have several paid days of orientation and training, dependent upon their individual needs by the director. At the orientation the following will be addressed:

  • Forms and paperwork
  • Job expectations, handbook and center policies
  • Licensing rules and regulations
  • Job related trainings
  • Tuberculosis (TB) and drug/substance testing
  • Health examination 6 months prior or within 30 days after beginning position

trainings

Beyond state mandated entry education for working in a child care setting required for employment, the following trainings are completed by all staff:

  • Blood Borne Pathogens and Epipen
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid CPR
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)
  • Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
  • Child Abuse/Neglect (MSCAN) Training
  • Mandated Reporting
